As the true giant of modern music, of any genre, Michael Jackson is so talented it’s almost scary. His boundary pushing videos and flawless songs with innovative beats have changed the world into a better, cooler, place. His acts are comprised of flawless dancing with absolute precision in his timing and movements, and of course the best voice ever to grace an eardrum. If his songs don’t get you moving, you need to check your pulse. With a style all his own (unlike the utter sameness of todays music world………Jessica Simpson……..Britney Spears………Christina………they’re all the same………gimmie a break), and excellent charisma and rythum……..he’s just the one and only. Music stars today ( like the ones mentioned above) think they’re talented……….haha……..Mike has more talent in his baby toe than every musical artist of the last couple of years put together. He is without a doubt the greatest entertainer of all time and a really, truly, nice person. Point Blank: The greatest talent ever.

At first watch, this disk is a little confusing. Packed with more of Jackson’s shameless self-promotion, it made me wonder why that was needed? Because in this set of songs, Jackson is talking about being a victim, and showing victims of prejudice. Now I think Jackson took so much crap from the public and media during his career, he had to learn how to promote his own work and efforts to overcome that and continue to be the success he was, and is. (His own campaigning reminds me a little of President Obama’s campaigning efforts, if the truth be known.)

The flip-side of this DVD is that it shows how the videos were made, some behind the scenes fun. Some of this is self-promotion again; some of it is MJ giving you a glimpse into his world.

I was a little thrown-off by the carnivalesque imagery with Dangerous; however there is some great symbolism here, much of it corresponding to ancient Egypt… Some of it corresponding to the innate wisdom of being young. One has to keep in mind that even at an early age, Michael Jackson was world-traveled and someone who witnessed a lot of what was going on with our planet and us, as human beings.

Black or White opens the set. At the beginning it shows, perhaps, rebellion is a healthy way to get free of some things that keep us down… Even inviting us to look at the rebellious spirit of children, in order to understand our own pain and hopelessness (thus the dark dancing sequence of Michael’s at the end). Are we a little higher in our intelligence than animals? That might be a question to ask when watching the morphing sequences of human faces. At the end of the video, MJ states “prejudice is ignorance”. What is the difference between stupidity (like a kooky Simpson’s cartoon) and ignorance? Stupidity does not have access to information and tools – like music, languages, the arts. Stupidity is like living in the dark because one doesn’t know how to use a light-switch. Ignorance refuses to gain access to those tools; in it’s stubbornness and need to be “right”, ignorance becomes a form of prejudice. I think MJ is also asking, how much of our ignorance is projected on us by the media?

Super-Bowl Heal the World – I thought these pieces were very emotional, colorful and powerful, especially with the participation of the children (many who are in their 30′s by now). Love it!

Remember the Time – just a fun song and dance number with Egyptian themes and fantasy, like a magical dream or reminiscing about the possibilities of past lives.

Will You Be There – another very powerful performance, with more footage from the Super Bowl gathering. A prayerful song for the spirit of the child, Jackson is saying many go to war and act-out with righteousness because they were wounded as children. He would be one to know!

In The Closet – erotic and frustrating; MJ comes across a sort of dancing Pinocchio when it comes to actualizing his desires in real life. Better to have a super-model do that for him?

Gone Too Soon – with an intro and montages featuring a young boy talking about discrimination, someone who died from AIDS, this one is dedicated to sick and orphaned children, and children with AIDS.

Jam – Jam is basically saying life is very confusing, like a game; we’ve got to learn how to take advantage of every day of our lives, because life is short. Featuring artists of the time – Kris-Kross and Heavy D, I love the beat with the jingling bells, interspersed with more kids dancing, playing and jumping rope (as if it is the children that keep life going here).

Heal The World – seeing this performed live brings tears to my eyes. It was important to Jackson to make videos, he said, because these would outlast the actual concert performances, leaving images behind which would stay with people’s minds. Once you see this video, you will want to learn the song and sing it to a few people you care about (and even some you dislike).

Give In To Me – interesting rock performance piece. Jackson was multi-talented, and did some scat-singing in this video which reminded me a lot of George Benson’s approach to rockin’.

Sets are interspersed in here with a video montage of Jackson sitting at the piano, playing and singing to himself “I’ll Be There”, with footage of himself from childhood, harmonizing. Just lovely!

Who Is It – another romantic piece about loss and betrayal; slick filming; seems more personal and autobiographical.

Dangerous & Why You Wanna Trip On Me? – The energy of the two pieces as they blend into to one another seem to say, instead of looking for what’s good and what’s right, why do we tend to look for trouble? Our natural curiosity as children are lost in hopelessness and cynicism. That’s the real danger, is it not?

Wowee. This is so utterly fantastic. And such a bargain. If you don’t buy this video, you’re crazy, it’s $10.00 for almost 2 hours of mind-blowing music and dancing. It starts out with the controversy of Black or White, which is a crock to me, what’s wrong with it? But it shows the reactions after the short film aired, and then it plays the whole video complete with racist graffiti on the car. Afterwards they show behind the scenes footage of the making of the video. Next Janet presents Michael with that Legend Grammy Award, and that’s so fantastic. Next is the Superbowl performance of Heal the World. It’s great of course. Then is Remember the Time with some behind the scenes footage. I enjoy videos so much more when I get to see what goes on during the making of them. Next is Will You Be There, which is such a great song. I’m unsure if it’s an actual video or concert footage used to make a video specifically for this movie but it’s fantastic. Next we see In The Closet with behind the scenes footage…that’s a terrific video. Next is Gone Too Soon filled with clips of Ryan White. After that is Jam with behind the scenes footage. That cracked me up, watching Michael Jackson trying to teach Michael Jordan to dance. Next is Heal the World the video, followed by Give in to Me, followed by Who is it, and then Dangerous is played while showing footage of the Dangerous tour. Somewhere in there is the NAACP award for Michael. All in all it is a fantastic video. I was intrigued and glued to the screen the entire length of the video, and it boggles my mind that it is going for such an incredibly cheap price. Pick it up, I guarantee you will enjoy it immensely.

I’ve seen about every Michael Jackson DVD/VHS you could find, and this still is by far the BEST of them all. This Disc contains so much stuff that many of us may have never seen before that its mesmorizing. To see Black or White the way it was MEANT to be seen is wonderful, to see the Super Bowl performance in CRYSTAL CLEAR quality is remarkable, and the UK version of the “Who Is It?” video (Directed by David Fincher, the genious behind Fight Club and SE7EN) is worth the price alone.

A MUST for any fan of Michael Jackson’s music, videos or for any fan of “short films”.

As we all know, Michael Jackson is the KING OF POP! This number-one film was in the Guiness book of World Records as the highest selling music video on ’94!! Containing never-before-seen footage, behind the scenes action, unreleased videos, and all are full-length. This price is also a bargain. Pick it up even if you’re not a die-hard. It is so worth it!! Dangerous is one of MJ’s greatest albums with some record-breaking fantastic music videos! “The Short Films” contains: The Teaser (you have to see it!!), the controversial full lentgh Black or White (complete with The Simpsons ending and the face morphing and dance sequence), The Superbowl Heal The World performance (excellent), Remember The Time (starring Iman, Eddie Murphy, and Magic Johnson), also has behind the scenes (great dancing!!), Will You Be There, In The Closet (with Naiomi Campbell- the best MJ video ever!!)(with behind the scenes action also,) Gone too Soon, (A tragic remembrance of AIDS victim Ryan White), Jam (a awesome video with Michael Jordan, Kris Kross, and Heavy D.), Heal The World (donate to the foundation! It’s a worthy cause!!), Give In To Me (featuring Slash from Guns n’ Roses), Who Is It (such a great beat!!) and last but not least, concert footage to the Dangerous Tour. This movie is something. You have got to see it. The album is legendary, the beats are ear-piercing and jammin’!! All of these perfect music videos have such a story to tell. Michael Jackson is the KING OF POP!!!!

Immaculate, innovative, undeniably king. Although sales for Dangerous never reached what Thriller or even Bad did (likely because of the backfiring publicity stunt that was the last two minutes of Black or White) it is undeniably his best work. Edgy, moving, sincere, and from a time when Michael’s carrier wasn’t as bogged down with having to proove something like he is now. Thriller and Smooth Criminal aside, MJ’s best videos are in this collection. His best dancing, his most memorable moments, and the REAL video for Who Is It, not the MTV version (Which looks to me like the Dangerous video, redubbed with the music for Who Is It. The behind the scenes footage and additional material from that era as a nice touch as well making this DVD the best collection of videos, though History Pt2 is pretty good too. They need to release Moonwalker as well. It’d be nice if they would consider compiling his complete music videos too, I have yet to see the full length version of Bad, and I have only seen clips of Dirty Diana thanks to documentaries on VH1. I would like to have the entire Michael Jackson music video collection available on DVD. Hopefully that’s comming soon. I miss the Dangerous era, MJ looked human back then, and despite the contraversies that ruined it for everyone Dangerous is his most underated album, and easily his edgiest and finest work. It’s a shame that Invincible didn’t reach the quality of this CD, the true platue of his carrere, though not in sales, people got scared off by the contraversy surrounding Black or White, and the incident involving Gordy Chandler, an obvious extortion issue for those who followed the case closely, but it still killed record sales. For those who missed this album and it’s videos because of the controversy, pick this album up! And the DVD!

This is a great Michael Jackson compilation and if you have the CD, you should definately go out and buy this too! It includes 11 of the best videos of all time, some of which are either very rare or unreleased. Only 4 of the 11 videos here were singles (including 2 versions of Heal The World), and 7 of them were from the album Dangerous but not released as singles, which makes this a treat for any MJ fans. The picture and sound quality for this DVD are amazing and indeed, Michael is a great performer and dancer in these videos!

What’s not to like?! 2 versions of Heal The World, The full video for Black Or White, the great video for Remember The Time (one of my favourite Michael Jackson videos!), the version of Dangerous from the world tour, In The Closet which features Naomi Campbell plus more great videos!! The DVD also includes Discography and Behind The Scenes Footage!!! This will definately keep you entertained, especially if you are a MJ fan!

I should start by saying I had no idea what to expect when I started watching this DVD. I spent the next 112 minutes mesmerized by what I was watching, and I will surely be playing this DVD many more times.

In chronological order, this is what appears on the DVD:

The DVD begins with a montage of Michael Jackson’s concerts, legions of screaming, crazed fans and an audio-visual assault of a flash-through of his albums. All I could think was, wow. This is entitled “Brace Yourself”.

Next was a series of clips from various newscasts from when the “Black and White” video was released. Looking back from the year 2009, they were quite amusing, but also helped portray the atmosphere the “Dangerous” videos were released to. What follows is the “Black and White” video with the panther ending, then some clips about the making of the “Black and White” video (including how the morphing was done and Michael and Macaulay Culkin pulling a prank).

A Janet Jackson-introduced award for Michael at the 35th Grammy Awards that included a review of his many career achievements. A touching speech by Michael for his acceptance. I will go back to this section many times to hear his eloquent words.

“Heal the World” Superbowl performance (I was a little disappointed that the entire Superbowl performance was not included on this DVD)

    “Remember The Time” (Egyptian theme)

“Will You Be There” (Michael performing onstage, interspersed with clips of fans. Amazing, and beautiful. I loved it, especially the end with Michael’s emotional words)

“In The Closet” (again, with some behind the scenes clips of the making of the video, followed by the video itself.

An old Phil Donahue Show clip featuring Ryan White, followed by the video for “Gone Too Soon”

NAACP Image Awards with Michael receiving an award, followed by clips and voice over of the making of “Jam”, and then the “Jam” video, followed by Michael trying to teach some dance moves, including the Moonwalk.

“Heal the World” introduced by Michael, explaining his desire to make the world a better place, followed by the beautiful video itself

    “Give In To Me” video

Some great clips of a young Michael spliced with an adult Michael playing the piano, with “I’ll Be There” quietly in the background, followed by the “Who Is It” video

Another montage of clips of behind the scenes of the Dangerous tour, and the various European concerts on that tour, played to the background music of “Dangerous”

The only bonus feature is a simple listing of Michael’s albums, with just the cover art and the title.

The DVD menus are pretty cool, done to the theme of the “Dangerous” cover art.

To put it simply, this DVD is truly an amazing collection of videos and footage, and I’m so glad I took a chance and bought it.

Michael has so much talent. Good album and good VHS. I just descovered this page on amazon and I hope that a DVD version will be avaliable. I am writing the first review so hopefully I can get a certificate so I can get it as soon as possible. The DVD should contain the same stuff that the VHS one contains (maybe the publishers may put in more features) The video (and assumingly the DVD as well) contains all but 3 songs from the DANGEROUS album (I Can’t Let Her Get Away, She Drives Me Wild, & Keep The Faith).

The Video and most likely the DVD contains the full videos of:

-Black or White (controversy, plus making of)

    -Remember The Time (behind scenes)

-Jam (behind scenes Michael Jordan comentary)

-In The Closet (an awesome MJ song and video, plus behind scenes)

-Heal the World (two times, super bowl performance and the video)

-Will You Be There (the complete and non-Free Willy version)

-Gone Too Soon (about that kid with AIDS that everyone forgot about)

-Dangerous (played while showing us snip shots from ihs concert world tour)

-Why You Wanna Trip On Me (played durring the credits)

-Give Into Me (Michael knows good rock with Slash)

-Who Is It (done by the director of FIGHT CLUB, excellent beat)

-(Bonus stuff) of 2 awards and a pretty deep speech from Michael and a little Michael singing with Michael “I’ll Be There”

Lets hope this wish of having avaliable this long awaited DVD comes true and we may get it. Michael still has fans in the USA, so let them have their DVD!
